SPEAKERS BIO:
- AKHILESH BHISE – VR Architect/Founder at Innovent
Having graduated from Goa Engineering College in the year 2017, Akhilesh Bhise started on a journey to explore the various dimensions of designing. Besides a professional Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering, he holds a diploma in 3D designing of Architectural Buildings. Over the entrepreneurial journey, he decided to explore how designs can be integrated along with Virtaul Reality giving a real-time experience to the clients.
He also takes time out to deliver lectures in Goa College of Architecture, Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Autonomous and Don Bosco College of Engineering. As he himself has undergone a startup journey, he makes a point to mentor and guide students in college projects.
He takes time out traveling to various design expos and updating his knowledge and skill-set with the advancement in technology.

As a Civil Engineering graduate, Akhilesh always had a vision to innovate the process of designing a space innovatively, which inspired him to make use of VR technology.
- ARKO – Architect/Visual artist, Founder Otherworlds
Otherworlds is a multidisciplinary design practice directed by Arko (He/She/It). Being an architect and a passionate visual artist, Arko founded the studio in 2021 and has been based out of Goa since then. His sole vision is to break the norm of stereotyped spaces and seek to identify the unconventional irregular opportunities. The work cross pollinates between art and architecture in both spatial and visual domains in the real, virtual and speculative worlds.As the name suggests an alternative to a set of predetermined values or systems, the practice is heavily informed from the beliefs of creating an all-inclusive queer affirmative society. It exists to defy the hierarchical power structures predominant in the design community by forming values on inclusivity, sharing and co-creation.

Arko is going to tell the story of the journey of a house, from one of their projects in Goa by his studio Otherworlds.
- DEVIKA MARTINS – Restoration Specialist
As a renovation specialist, Devika is trying to convince the Goan community not to underestimate the binding power of lime plaster. After working in Europe and studying in Florence, Italy; she decided to move back to her hometown Goa to try and restore as many old, Goan houses as possible. Devika try and conserve resources by utilising original wood beams, doors and flooring to keep historic characteristics alive in your home!

- DINESH SAREEN – Architect
DINESH SAREEN is an Architect and Architectural photographer based in Delhi and Betalbatim. After a B.Arch from SPA New Delhi in 1977, he went on to UC Berkeley for his M.Arch, where he was part of the inaugural CAD studio in 1986. As Principal of Jasbir Sawhney & Associates Architects, he was instrumental in becoming the CAD pioneer as early as 1985. Technology, for him, is not merely a tool but a driver in the design process. Upon leaving full-time practice, he was a visiting Professor at the Goa College of Architecture, where he conducted the Technology Studio for four years.

- JOY ARORA- Interior Designer
Joy Arora has over 20 years work experience, with more than 15 years in manufacturing unit that he himself had established.
When he lost his company during COVID times, he decided to venture into different field. Interiors has always been his passion and he explored it more from then on. He had an advance diploma in Designing and programming, that helped him understand and conceptualise his skills better. From initialy handsketching to learning a software design from a company called foyr Neo, to also learning 2 D & 3D modelling, drawing the actual size of the room. He not only loved doing the interiors but was able to procure accuracy unlike many. According to him it’s his precise measurements, that enabled him to deliver cost cutting yet customised designs to over 60 plus clients in last two years in Goa alone.

Today he will be showing us as how Maths is fun, when you use it to design things, incorporate customers ideas into reality. Technology and precise measurements go hand in hand to deliver a dream projects.
- PHILU MARTINS – Fashion Designer
Philu Martins, an acclaimed and celebrated Goan fashion designer who has carved an exclusive niche for herself in the fashion industry over the last two decades, has become a name synonymous with elegance and class.
Having assisted the renowned late Mr. Wendell Rodricks, a legend in his own right, and having taught fashion designing at various institutes, she went on to successfully launch her very own brand, ‘Philu Martins’. Her versatile and chic designs showcase the aesthetic elegance and edgy playfulness of the contemporary and sensual woman of today. Her brand accentuates the feminine form with soft pure cottons, silks, and chiffons, which are artistically embellished with exquisite and delicate hand embroideries.
This Goan-based label has attracted several buyers and fashion- enthusiasts worldwide, while Philu Martins herself has exhibited her collections in Europe and participated in numerous Fashion Weeks.
She also houses her label in several elite stores across India and has a prominent presence in various exclusive locations in both North and South Goa. She exhibits her attention to detail, creativity and artistry through her custom-made bridal gowns, which are breathtaking. Philu Martins boasts of two more brands under her label, a lounge wear line called Bee Happy made in pure cotton with Natural dyes, and Rowp, a Luxury Resort Wear which is an ensemble of silks, in tropical and nature-friendly prints. Another feather to her already illustrious cap is The Philu Martins School of Design, a school of fashion technology where hundreds of young Goans have been successfully instructed under her experienced tutelage.

- Ar. SIYA NAVELKAR KHANDEPARKAR – Architect, Co-Founder, Studio De-Construct
Ar. Siya Navelkar Khandeparkar has had an eye for all things beautiful even as a child.
Creativity comes to her naturally, prompting her to foray into the field of architecture, where she graduated from Goa College of Architecture with flying colours.
Her love for Nature and creativity forms an extraordinary combination with her tremendous intellect and a passion for learning, creating the most groundbreaking structures and designs.
All her projects amalgamate practicality and beauty, which blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural attributes.
She and her equally talented husband, Shounak Khandeparkar, co-founded Studio De.construct, an Architectural, Interior and Landscape design firm based in Goa.
