On 27th February, under warm lights at Yaki Zushi, Sangolda, PechaKucha Goa celebrated its 8th anniversary with its 59th edition.
The theme was intentional: REFLECTIONS.
Why REFLECTIONS?
Because growth without reflection is noise.
Momentum without meaning is hollow.
And a community without shared stories fades.
Eight years ago, in 2018, PechaKucha Goa began as an idea — a consistent storytelling space where creativity met the spirit of Goa.
Not panels.
Not conferences.
But honest storytelling in the 20×20 format.
An idea. A room. A format.
Eight years later, it stands as one of Goa’s longest-running independent community storytelling platforms.
The Stories That Defined Vol. 59
This edition brought together 13 speakers, each reflecting on a defining turning point.
We heard stories of:
• Reclaiming voice after years of silence.
• Negotiating motherhood and ambition without apology.
• Discovering that presence matters more than performance.
• Pushing through uncertainty to reach Everest Base Camp.
• Bridging AI, confidence and education.
• Designing spaces that simplify life and deepen emotion.
• Travelling across 50 countries in search of identity and meaning.
• Redefining life after 60 through Gen S.
• Exploring memory, time and perspective through the Eye of the Camera.
Each story was deeply personal.
Yet each one carried a universal thread.
Reflection precedes transformation.
The Room
PechaKucha Goa has always been about the room.
The silence after a vulnerable moment.
The laughter.
The conversations that linger.
Entrepreneur Saurabh Sen said,
“I came expecting motivation. I left questioning my own definitions of success.”
Fashion Designer Meenakshi Lohia reflected,
“It didn’t feel like an event. It felt like a safe creative space.”
Corporate Trainer Anjali Prasad shared,
“Every talk held up a mirror. You couldn’t just listen—you had to reflect.”
That is what eight years of consistency builds.
Trust.
Creativity Meets the Spirit of Goa
Goa is often viewed through tourism and nightlife.
But beneath that surface lies a powerful creative undercurrent — thinkers, builders, designers, educators, and entrepreneurs.
PechaKucha Goa has quietly become a meeting point where that energy converges.
Where creativity meets the spirit of Goa.
Where stories are not curated for perfection — but for truth.
Eight Years Later
Eight years means resilience.
It means showing up again and again.
It means 59 editions of curated storytelling.
And Vol. 59 reminded us why we started.
Before the next leap, we pause.
We reflect.
And then we build again.
PechaKucha Goa continues.
The community grows.
The stories deepen.
And the next chapter is already waiting.
